Your brain will learn to ignore reflections as well. You might have to turn off lights or close shades on a window to reduce reflections. The problem with a glossy screen is reflections. I don't think the colors are more true on a matte screen. If needed for photo editing, shouldn't you keep from using the glossy screen used on the Imac? It's nice to have a larger desk area when working on especially if you on your Mac for a long time with multiple Apps open.įor me 21.5 isn't enough if you are working in more than one window. if you think down the road you may do video or any other media get the 27in. If you're only working with stills, it's probably less of a thing, but working in Final Cut on the 27s is hugely different. The 21.5 will probably work fine, but the 27s are gorgeous. Us the extra money for another lens/accessories. My worksflow has since increased significantly and i would never go back.

I have recently switched from pc to mac and i have the 21.5 iMac with cs3 and absolutley love it. So, as a photographer, is it necessary/important to just go for the 27”? I feel that the 21.5” would do a great job as well. I guess I am wondering if I would get used to the 27”? I have read that there have been issues with the 27” screen (flickering, yellow cast, temperature differences), but I have been told that’s all been worked out.is that true?

She is adamant that I should have the 27” for photography purposes, but I feel more inclined towards the 21.5” just because I feel it’s a workable size and not so incredibly huge. So, we have looked at the iMac product line and are basically split between the 21.5” and the 27” iMac. She desperately wants me to have a Mac and to be honest, I’m fine with that and agree that they are better suited for creative media. My PC is on its deathbed and my mom is a newfound big fan of Mac.
